U.S. citizens traveling to India need the following documentation in order to gain entry:
- Passport with two blank pages, valid for 6 months beyond the date of travel.
- A tourist eVisa, completed and issued electronically prior to arrival in India
The visa on arrival process is no longer available, and without the pre-travel authorization, entry may be delayed or denied.
To apply for the eVisa:
- Visit the official site, between 5 and 30 days prior to travel, to complete the application and submit required documents: India eVisa Application Process
- Once approved, print a copy and present at immigration with your passport, upon arrival.
